Northwood Hills is rapidly becoming a favorite filming spot for the new hit series, "The Good Guys" set in Dallas, starring Colin Hanks, as by-the-book cop, Jack Bailey, and Bradley Whitford, as old school cop, Dan Stark, with Jenny Wade playing Assistant DA, Liz Traynor, and Diana Maria Riva, as Lt. Ana Ruiz.
For the second time in as many months, one of our residences was selected and transformed into the set for an upcoming episode. Interestingly enough, the homes were just two doors away from one another. My guess is you will not be able to tell that, though.
This latest shoot just wrapped today, after a week of preparation on the exterior of the home. The side entry three car garage was constructed to look like the entrance to a building, perhaps a church. Then, the crew carefully destroyed it, making it look like the building withstood an intense fire.
Neighbors were confused, and thought that a remodeling effort was consumed by an intense blaze. I live right down the street, so I watched as the effects of "the blaze" intensified each day.
By this morning, the set was ready. Streets were blocked off, the actors showed up and filming began! In between scenes I was permitted access past the set, so I could return to my home. "The Good Guys" filming on location in Northwood Hills, in North Dallas = Colin Hanks sighting..just another day in the neighborhood.
